Just Desserts

After the pasta supper served by the Youth Group, the Social Justice Committee will provide desserts and host a Fireside Room chat on topics of social justice from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 10.

Our chief topics this evening will be Haiti – what we have learned about the social-justice issues in this beleaguered country – as well as the recent Supreme Court decision allowing corporate money in elections.

We encourage people to introduce themselves by sharing a book or film or life experience that woke them up to a social-justice issue that subsequently became important to them. All are welcome to join the conversation or simply enjoy desserts and listen.

The Social Justice Committee exists to plan social justice trips and projects, promote social justice advocacy, share information about local, national and international organizations including the UUSC, and direct resources to appropriate organizations. We meet the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of every month.
