Religious Education Classes for Children and Families

There are several levels of child programs at the Fellowship: nursery care (for children up to age 4), religious education (for intermediate ages), and two youth groups (for teenagers). No preregistration to any of these programs is required for occasional visits. There is also a group for college students and other young adults.

Nursery care is provided during all Sunday programs. During the academic year, religious education for older children is available at one of the services or at both, depending on the age. During single services in the summer, multi-age activities are planned for children ages 4th-6th grade. Contact Lori Allen, the UUFA Director of Youth and Children's Ministries (292-5960, dycm [at] uufames [dot] org) for more information.

More information about all children's programs can be found in the Religious Education Handbook.

The Nursery

   Anne Tepper, UUFA Nursery Coordinator

Child care is provided for children younger than 4 in the Fellowship nursery during regular Sunday services. There is no set curriculum.  The atmosphere of the nursery is that of a loving, caring community coming together to support families with young children.

Nursery Family Play Group

Nursery Family Play Group

We clear out the Fellowship Hall and haul out toys so nursery-age children can run and play! Parents share supervision and enjoy visiting.

This informal group will meet at 9:30am on the 2nd Saturday of each month.

No snacks, no dues, no hassle. Just show up and play.

First Friday Family Fun Night

A former night of games & pizza that is on hold for lack of attendance

This event was popular for years but has not had enough sustained interest recently to keep it active.

If you are interested in reorganizing, please let the office know so building space can be reserved.

Our Partner Church in Tordátfalva, Romania

Overview

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Ames has a partner church in Tordátfalva, Romania, led by the Rev. Lajos Lõrinczi. He and his wife, Tünde, visited Ames in 2002, and delegations from our Fellowship visited Romania in 2004 and 2007. We anticipate that a group from our congregation will again be traveling to the village in 2011. (This trip has been postponed from 2010.)
