RE at the Park (Sept 12-Nov 28)
RE at the Park is an outdoor, in-person program for PreK - 8th graders on Sunday mornings at Emma McCarthy Lee Park. Students will be reconnecting with each other while engaging with nature, learning about environmental stewardship, and having fun exploring the great outdoors! Students will reflect on the 7th principle and ways to respect the interdependent web of which we are all a part. Themes to be explored include: mindfulness, interconnectivity, diversity, adaptations, and stewardship.
The young elementary (PreK-2nd grade) and older elementary (3-5th grade) groups will have students experimenting with hands-on, nature-based activities and exploring the environment while also learning more about UU principles and traditions.
Middle schoolers (6-8th grade) will be exploring trails, practicing mindfulness in nature, and learning about water quality and local ecology. Students will also be investigating an active research project in Pammel Woods and design their own project to practice environmental stewardship.
