4 Marginalia: Life’s Little Surprises on the Path to Wonder and Awe

The Rev. Roger Butts
Marginalia is a poem by Billy Collins about a bit of marginalia he saw in a library book
once, a message that came out of the blue, that came unexpectedly and touched something
in him that expanded his view of himself and the world. Billy Collins invites us to be
attentive to those things that come to us as moments of clarity, moments of grace, moments
of new awareness that are pure gift. *is service asks: What little epiphanies have visited
you? Read ahead if you’d like: Marginalia, www.billy-collins.com/2005/06/marginalia.html.

us for an exploration of the meaning of Barack Obama’s election in the context of King’s
unfinished agenda. What has impeded the fulfillment of King’s vision over the past 40
years? What can we reasonably hope for from an Obama administration?

25 Time Machine, single service at 10 a.m.

High School Youth
Join the UUFA senior high youth as they share what it was like to be a UU teen in past
