7 Duets
A Cast of Thousands
Partnerships strengthen our creative impact on the world. We’ll present a variety of types of partnerships in musical duets and in stories of partners whose creativity made a difference.
14 City of Bones
The Rev. Dr. Kendyl Gibbons
In his masterful 10-play cycle examining a century of black experience in America, the playwright August Wilson offers a powerful metaphor for understanding the ways in which oppression and liberation can distort and redeem the human soul. A visit to the City of Bones is a demanding and dangerous journey, with the possibility of transformation at its core. As we approach Juneteenth, the annual remembrance of the black experience of emancipation in this country, does the City of Bones summon us once again?
21 Light and Darkness; the Summer Solstice
The Rev. Dr. Brian Eslinger
On this longest day of the year, join in celebration and contemplation of the roles light and darkness play in our lives.
28 This I Believe
We are a diverse community of caring individuals, and we experience and express our spiritual journeys in readings, songs, and stories.
