Meditation Groups

Meditation Sitting Group

The Sitting Meditation Group meets at 9:00 am on Wednesdays.  This group also meets on Fridays at 2:00 pm.  Come sit for 40 minutes, either on cushions or on chairs.  If instruction is desired, one of the members will come early for that.  This group does not follow any one specific practice.

Mindfulness and Meditation

The Mindfulness & Meditation group has been meeting at the Fellowship each Sunday evening from 6:00-7:00 pm since they started in the fall of 2006. It’s an open group with no membership rules and no level of experience required.  This group practices mainly sitting meditation together and the use of various meditative techniques to encourage, build and sustain their personal practices.  Periodically the group chooses a book to read and discuss over the course of a few months.  Reading and conversation focus on various Buddhist and/or mindfulness topics and the connection between meditation, mindfulness and their effects on our lives.   A typical evening consists of half an hour of discussion and half an hour of sitting meditation.  Anyone with an interest in cultivating mindfulness and creating a meditative practice for themselves is welcome to join.
