Environmental Assessment (Final Draft)
I hope most of you can attend the meeting tomorrow evening to put the finishing touches on the final draft of the environmental assessment document. Thanks to Greta for producing the first workable draft and to everyone else who has contributed to the editing. I believe it is an excellent account of what the Fellowship has been doing over the last several years.
I mentioned to Chris that a few sentences should be added that describe Larry and Holly Burkhalter's role in starting Worldly Goods in Ames. Fair trade is an environmental justice issue and the Burkhalter's should get credit for this project that continues to be successful after 20 years. Many in the Fellowship have patronized the store and some have volunteered their time as workers.
I have told Paul Readhead that I would make the presentation on our Green Sanctuary project to his church. He will notify me of the date in the near future. It will be on a Sunday morning in January or February.
Tomorrow I will be driving to Dubuque with several members of 1000 Friends of Iowa to attend an all day program on sustainability. At a social event in the evening we will be presenting a best development award to an architectural firm in Dubuque that has restored an older building in the downtown area.
Thanks for all you do.
